1. Create a clutter- free space

De-clutter your living room by eliminating unnecessary décor such as furniture, paintings and framed photos. A clutter-free space creates more comfort and relaxation unlike a cluttered one. A great way of achieving this is by investing in storage baskets, shelves and furniture with hidden storage. Avoid too many contrasting colors on your walls because they create a cluttered look as well.

 

2. Use of colors

Use soothing colors to make your living room more comfortable and relaxing. Paint colors that are associated with nature because they create a soothing effect which is relaxing and calming. These include cool greens, blues and pinks. Darker hues on the other hand create a perfect place for relaxation. Dark colors make a room seem smaller while neutral ones make it larger.  Mix rugs, throws, body pillows, pillows and furniture with different colors and textures to make your living room more stylish.

 

3. Using personal photos and paintings

 

Framed photos and paintings of your loved ones are a great way of decorating and adding comfort to your living room. They help you reflect on meaningful memories in your life. This creates happiness and relaxation which is equivalent to comfort.
