This review is The Truth by Jeffry W. Johnston. One of my favorite ways to rest is by curling up with a good book. Like movies and music, all genres appeal to me, and I give all books a chance to be ‘heard’!
The Truth is a quick read about a teenage boy being abducted by another boy close to his age. His abductor wants the truth about this little brother's death and it's one truth that may or may not be discovered. #beingfibromom… Share on X

I discovered the paperback The Truth in my community’s Little Free Library and was intrigued by the cover alone. It’s a relatively quick read as I read it in one sitting but I was disappointed overall.
Chris has been abducted by Derek, a boy not too much older than himself. While Chris is strapped in a chair in a basement, Derek is determined to know the truth about why Chris shot and killed his little brother. What Derek doesn’t understand is that no matter how much he threatens Chris, Chris will never reveal the truth. He can’t ever reveal the truth no matter whose lives are at stake.
This book is also available with Kindle Unlimited Membership Plans.
The review is short, but so is the book. It was an extremely quick read and the book isn’t that long either (240 pages). The plot isn’t complex, the characters’ developments are shallow, and the twist isn’t really a twist. While I didn’t like the book, you may enjoy it.

Book Talk: The Truth
Book of the Month Club
I enjoyed books so much that I joined the Book of the Month Club to continue receiving the latest and greatest books via mail. Some of the books are exclusive to BOTM club members a month prior to their official publishing date! Each month I’m excited about the monthly selections, and it’s tough to select just one. (And when I can’t decide on one, I can add additional books for a small add-on charge and – as always – shipping is included in the monthly membership fee.) Can’t find one you want? That’s okay, too! Skip a month, pocket the credit to spend next month, and you won’t be charged for that current month.

Book Ratings and Reviews
Each book I review is based on my opinion. This does not mean you will agree with the review or love/like/dislike the book, too. There’s a quote that says, “No two persons ever read the same book” by Edmund Wilson, and it’s quite true!
