I do about 90% of my shopping online. The stress of going into the stores, finding what I need, and having four kids with me makes me overwhelmed by noises and anxiety. It’s just not my thing. Now don’t get me wrong – I love a Target trip, but I do those when I’m able to have a leisure shop and there’s time to sip some Starbucks along the way. Otherwise, you can count me out!
As with any time I spend my money, I seek to earn bonuses when I shop online. Whether it’s using Honey to find discount codes or earning Swagbucks while I shop, there are benefits to be earned while spending my hard earned money. Here are further details to earn Swagbucks shopping online.

What is Swagbucks?
Swagbucks is a free online rewards site that pays you points (called SB) for doing activities online. Points are redeemed for cash or gift cards of your choice (it’s a hard decision with the hundreds of gift cards to choose). Activities include playing games, watching videos, answering surveys, shopping online (which many of us already do), and more! Read more details here.
The best part is that the points you get can be used to get free gift cards to places like Amazon, or PayPal cash! Read about how I shop on Amazon for FREE using Swagbucks!

How to Earn Swagbucks Shopping Online Screenshots
To get to Swagbucks shop:
Click ‘Shop’ in the left sidebar menu (1) or the Shop and Earn from the middle section (2) of the Swagbucks’ home page:
On the next screen, you will see the Shopping home page:
Sections to notice on this page:
- Stores grouped by type: favorite (customized by you to add or remove your favorite stores), stores, local deals, travel, and coupons
- Stores grouped by categories
- Search for a specific store
- Stores grouped by type are also listed on cards in the middle section
For each section, there is an option to view all stores and coupons. There are also areas on each section to scroll to see other stores/coupons.
Take notice of the details of each store when you hover over the card:
- Store name
- SB earned
- Click heart to save to favorites
- Special terms to earning SB and about the store
- Sort by popularity, A – Z, Z – A, low to high (SB earned), high to low
- Store details (see above section) and click heart to save (or remove from) the favorites list
When you click Shop now, one of two screens will appear. If there are certain departments to shop to get SB, the following screen will appear (the following example is for Amazon):
The qualifying departments are listed with the SB per dollar earned (indicated by the pink arrow one the left side). From this screen you can also save/remove to favorites, look at store details, and see how many SB per dollar you can earn. Once you are ready to shop, click ‘shop now’ (circled in pink on the right side).
If there are no special departments, the following screen will appear:
Crediting your account
Once you have checked out and paid, it will take Swagbucks up to 32 days to credit your account. If your account does not reflect the points called SB from your shopping, contact Swagbucks. They are great about answering inquiries within 24 business hours. I’ve never had a problem or complaint with customer service.
**Tip: I take a screenshot of my shopping transaction and save the email containing the confirmation. It makes it easier to submit an image to Swagbucks customer service when contacting them regarding a Shop and Earn transaction.
To see all Shop and Earn transactions, hover over the smiley face icon (1) in the upper right of the screen, then click ‘My Shop and Earn’ (2).
Once on the Shop and Earn page, click the ‘purchases’ tab to see the date of the shopping, places shopped, amount spent, how many SB earned, and if you have been awarded or not. If it’s been more than 30 days, click the quote bubble to contact the Swagbucks team.
