This review is Try Dying by James Scott Bell. One of my favorite ways to rest is by curling up with a good book. Like movies and music, all genres appeal to me, and I give all books a chance to be ‘heard’!

Try Dying is the first book I’ve read by James Scott Bell and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this thriller.

Ty Buchanan is a successful lawyer in LA and is on cloud nine as a recently engaged man to the love of his life, Jacqueline. However, it is short-lived when his fiancee is killed by a man hitting the roof of her car after jumping off a freeway overpass. At first, it looks like her death is the collateral damage to a man’s suicide but there’s a witness who saw what really happened. After the witness tracks down Ty and tells him Jacqueline’s death is really a murder, Ty risks his life to get to the truth.

Try Dying by @jamesscottbell is a page-turner that will have you guessing the end until the very end. #thriller #fiction #bookreviews #brandisbookcorner Click To Tweet

Apparently, this is the first of several novels with Ty Buchanan as the main character. This is exciting because I enjoy it when authors write various books with the same central character. James Scott Bell executed a thriller with enough suspense and intrigue to keep you engaged from cover to cover. I give this four out of five stars.

Book of the Month Club

I enjoyed books so much that I joined the Book of the Month Club to continue receiving the latest and greatest books via mail. Some of the books are exclusive to BOTM club members a month prior to their official publishing date! Each month I’m excited about the monthly selections, and it’s tough to select just one. (And when I can’t decide on one, I can add additional books for a small add-on charge, and – as always – shipping is included in the monthly membership fee.) Can’t find one you want? That’s okay, too! Skip a month, pocket the credit to spend next month, and you won’t be charged for that current month.

Book Ratings and Reviews

Each book I review is based on my opinion. This does not mean you will agree with the review or love/like/dislike the book, too. There’s a quote that says, “No two persons ever read the same book” by Edmund Wilson, and it’s quite true!
